Rachel Coffman Honored as PRSA WV Practitioner of the Year

Rachel Coffman was awarded the 2022 Practitioner of the Year award by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) West Virginia Chapter on August 26th during the annual PRSA WV Crystal Award Gala.



The PRSA West Virginia Chapter selects practitioner of the year based on the professional accomplishments and dedication to pro-bono and community service to the profession and chapter.


Coffman led the PRSA WV Chapter through the pandemic as President. Her vision and dedication contributed to the chapter growing membership and increasing revenue through virtual programming. Her leadership maintain the chapter's health during its most difficult time. In 2022, she took on the role of professional advisor for the WVU PRSSA chapter.


In 2021, Coffman opened her own firm and growing in by 40% in less than a year. While navigating the landscape as a business owner, she conducted award-wining (PRSA WV Crystal Award & PRSA East Central District Diamond Awards) public relations campaigns in branding, reputation management, community relations, and graphic design.


Coffman is dedicated to serving the community and was the co-chair for the 2022 Carnaval Gala funding the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences.


About Coffman Collaborative:


Rachel Coffman has over 15 years of experience in public relations strategic planning and implementation. She specializes in governmental affairs and reputation management. With over 12 years of lobbying experience, she represents some of West Virginia's largest employers and manufacturers as their voice to the WV Legislature. Coffman is the co-chair of the West Virginia Manufacturers Association Governmental Affairs Committee and is the West Virginia representative for the National League of Women Lobbyists.


She has been a dedicated member to PRSA since her time at the Marshall University PRSSA Chapter in 2004-2008. Serving on the PRSA WV Board of Directors since 2013, Coffman has represented the PRSA WV Chapter in every leadership role. She will represent the Chapter as the Assembly Delegate from 2023-2026. Coffman is a member of the PRSA National Membership Committee and Executive Committee Member for the Public Affairs and Government Section.
